Scientists Confirm That Coconut Oil Destroys 90% Of Colon Cancer Cells

The American Cancer Society predicts 95,270 new colon cancer cases in U.S. this year, many of which will be probably treated with the conventional methods: radiation therapy, surgery, or chemotherapy.

But all of these treatments have severe side effects, and one recent study claims that there is a safer and more natural treatment for colon cancer.

Coconut oil is well-known for its many health benefits, and some people even regard organic virgin coconut oil as a superfood. Its component that is considered to possess anti-cancer properties is the medium-chain fatty acid which can also be found in breast milk, called Lauric acid. It provides plenty antimicrobial properties thus supporting the immune system.

Coconut oil is believed to be anti-everything bad. This pro-health ingredient possesses most anti-inflammatory properties than any other food, along with its anti-fungal, anti-bacterial, anti-viral, anti-microbial, antioxidant and anti-carcinogenic properties.

Coconut oil can help normalize the levels of insulin and blood sugar, destroy candida and other harmful fungi, reduce the risk of heart disease, and keep a healthy weight.

Colon Cancer and Coconut Oil
The Cancer Research journal has published a study which shows that the lauric acid in this oil possesses anti-cancer properties.

This active compound constitutes about 50 percent of the oil, and an in vitro study conducted by the University of Adelaide researchers found that it thoroughly obliterated over 90 percent of colon cancer cells in a 2-day treatment in a colon cancer cell line. This finding was supported by other studies too.

Researchers perform their in vitro experiments in a controlled environment, or in a petrie dish, outside a living organism. On the contrary, in vivo studies involve experiments conducted on whole, living organisms.

Some people may discount the coconut oil and colon cancer finding as it was performed in vitro. However, a lots of money are needed for them to perform more research without a support of a pharmaceutical company.

American Society for Nutrition explains that there are clinical studies which show that the medium-chain fatty acids in coconut oil can help in the prevention and treatment of osteoporosis, Chrohn’s disease, gallbladder disease, diseases related to viruses (hepatitis C, mononucleosis, herpes), and cancer.

It was previously shown that coconut oil can help reduce the severe side effects of chemo, and improve the life quality of cancer patients.

More Coconut Oil Research
Coconut oil has also been considered to treat Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease, Huntington’s disease, diabetes, multiple sclerosis, and drug resistant epilepsy. There was a case when Dr. Mary Newport started giving a daily dose of this oil to her husband with Alzheimer’s disease.

After 60 days, his symptoms improved drastically. As she states, ketone bodies can help the heart recover after an acute attack, the newborn’s brain recover after lack of oxygen through adults, and can reduce cancerous tumors.
